Ready Boat rules

Only qualified non-boat owners may use a Ready Boat
-
Annual Ready Boat Membership fee must be paid in advance of using.

Must qualify as captain
-
Maximum of 5 on the boat at any given time

If the boat has room, other qualified users must be allowed to come along
-
Must provide cell phone number and float plan
-
Be kind to the boat and equipment
-
Be aware of weather and tides
-
Sail out against current
-
Ensure there are enough PFDs for all on board—and remember to wear them!

Boat cannot be used when a Small Craft Advisory is issued or wind is above 20 knots
-
The skipper must fill out the Ready Boat Log after each sail and is required to report any malfunction or defects to the Ready Boat Committee Chair

The skipper should always have a handheld VHF available
-
Any person who uses the Ready Boat is automatically on the Ready Boat Committee which requires helping with the Ready Boat's maintenance
