Ensign Regional Regatta
Ensign Fleet 21, in conjunction with the Miramar Yacht Club, invites entries to the 2024 Ensign Region 1 Championship Regatta to be sailed in Lower New York Harbor by Coney Island.
The championship will be held in two divisions: Spinnaker and Jam Fleet. Racing will occur in the mornings and afternoons on Saturday and Sunday, with the final racings completed before 3 pm Sunday.
Skippers are expected to register through Regattanetwork.com from now until the week prior to the regatta. The fee for a skipper and his/her crew of three is $175. A late fee of $50 will be applied when the registration arrives after June 10th.
We are strongly encouraging skippers to arrive and launch their boats on the Friday before the event. Our yard is located on a tidal bay, and therefore boats can only launch within a 4-hour window in the morning and evening (2 hours prior to and after high tide). On Friday, the 23rd, hide tides will be approximately 10 am and 10 pm (launching will start around 7:30 pm).
Housing is available on a limited basis with Miramar Yacht Club members. Requests must be made at least a month in advance. A greeting cocktail party will be hosted by Miramar Yacht Club on Friday evening. Bagels and spread will be served Saturday morning before the Skippers meeting. And on Saturday evening all participants will be invited to a full BBQ style dinner. There will also be an awards ceremony on Sunday afternoon after racing.
