Miramar Survey
Dear Miramar Family,
Mid-season greetings from the Bridge and the Board of Governors! We hope you’re soaking up every moment on the water and enjoying everything our beautiful club has to offer. Whether you’ve been with us for decades or just joined last week—welcome! Together, we make up a truly special community of sailors and seafarers.
Some of our members have been navigating these waters for over 60 years—can you imagine? That’s a lifetime of tides, regattas, dockside stories, and unforgettable celebrations. We’re deeply grateful to our senior members for sharing their wisdom and keeping the spirit of Miramar alive.
At the same time, it’s been exciting to see a wave of new energy from younger members—especially families with kids. You are the future of Miramar Yacht Club and sailing out of Sheepshead Bay, and we’re thrilled you’re here.
As our membership grows, so do the demands of keeping the club running smoothly. And that brings us to the heart of this letter: we need your help. Right now, a small group of dedicated folks is doing most of the heavy lifting—and we believe many of you would love to get more involved, if you just knew where to start.
That’s why we’ve put together a short membership survey. It’s a way for us to get to know your skills, interests, and ideas—and to match them with ways you can contribute. We've also included a copy of the Club’s organizational chart to give you a clearer picture of how we function and where you might fit in.
At Miramar, our strength lies in our committees—small teams of members who take ownership of different parts of club life. These are the engines that keep us moving forward. If you’re curious or eager to lend a hand, take a look!
We’re proud to say Miramar is thriving, even as other clubs face challenges. We’re in the midst of an exciting wave of capital improvements, both onshore and along the waterfront. Let’s keep that momentum going—together. With everyone pitching in, we’ll not only grow stronger, but continue to be a place where sailing and camaraderie flourish.
Warmly,
The Bridge and Board of Governors
