Anchoring Clinic, Sunday August 3
Dear Miramar Yacht Club Members,
We are excited to invite you to a special Anchoring Clinic on Sunday, August 3, 2025 at the club! This event is designed for sailors of all experience levels who want to improve their anchoring knowledge with a practical, hands-on approach.
Schedule & Format
The clinic will begin with a classroom session covering the key principles of anchoring, featuring a series of slides and practical discussion—not just rules, but real-life understanding.
Following the classroom segment, all participants are welcome to join an optional dockside walkthrough to observe and discuss different anchor types as used on various boats.
Instructors & Contributors
You’ll learn from Mike Friedman who will provide a range of real-world examples and unique anchor setups.
Logistics & Costs
Attendance is just $15 per person, which covers food and helps support our club activities.
Victoria will coordinate refreshments and Mike Friedman and Tom Tolleson will coordinate event logistics to ensure a smooth day for all.
Materials & Handouts
Attendees will receive PDF handouts in advance; please print your own copies if you prefer hard copies.
A projector will be used for slides; we’ll have a backup plan in place as well.
Additional reading recommendations will be available, though not required
Flexibility & Coordination
We’ll keep plans flexible based on turnout and weather conditions, and all details will be coordinated with the club’s Bridge.
